VIMID Automotive Technician Skills Competition 2026: Demonstrating Team Expertise and Enhancing Service Quality

Following a successful conclusion marked by intense competition, “VIMID Automotive Technician Skills Competition 2026” has identified outstanding technicians from across Vietnam. More than an annual professional event, the competition reflects VIMID’s ongoing commitment to training, skills development and continuous improvement, with the ultimate goal of delivering the highest standards of service to customers.

Enhancing Team Competencies Through Professional Competition

The VIMID Automotive Technician Skills Competition 2026 was successfully held in Hanoi, bringing together 12 outstanding teams comprising engine and chassis technicians and automotive electrical technicians from VIMID and the nationwide network of partners and authorised dealers. Through theoretical and practical assessments, participating teams demonstrated their technical knowledge, diagnostic skills and ability to handle technical situations closely aligned with real-world working conditions.

The event was attended by VIMID’s leadership, branch managers, partners, experts from SINOTRUK Group, and distinguished professors from the University of Transport and Communications. Also in attendance were leaders, heads and deputy heads of technical departments, and key technical personnel from branches across the VIMID network.

Students from the University of Transport and Communications also attended, giving them an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to practical industry experience. The initiative reflects VIMID’s commitment to supporting the development of the next generation of technical professionals, inspiring young talent, broadening career opportunities and strengthening technical capabilities across the automotive and transport sectors.

The teams’ thorough preparation and the competition’s rigorous, demanding atmosphere contributed to a high standard of technical assessment. In particular, the practical test conducted on a HOWO tractor truck required technicians to apply their combined technical knowledge, analytical skills and procedural expertise to resolve challenging situations. The assessment also provided a practical basis for evaluating professional competence and readiness to meet the demands of their roles.

Beyond serving as an annual professional competition, the VIMID Automotive Technician Skills Competition forms part of VIMID’s broader strategy for workforce training and capability development, with a focus on improving service quality throughout the network. Through practical assessments and direct competition, technicians have opportunities to evaluate their own capabilities, update their technical knowledge, refine their skills and exchange experience in resolving technical challenges.

Outstanding Technicians Recognised for Their Achievements

After a full day of enthusiastic competition, the organisers announced and honoured the most outstanding teams among the 12 participants. The results recognised teams demonstrating exceptional technical competence, composure and adaptability in assessments demanding a high level of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

The final results were as follows:

• First Prize: VIMID Da Nang
• Second Prize: VIMID Thanh Hoa
• Third Prize: VIMID West Hanoi

Held annually, the competition brings together technicians from across VIMID’s operating units, partner network and authorised dealers to exchange experience, share approaches to resolving technical issues and stay up to date with evolving requirements in vehicle maintenance and repair. The initiative also strengthens motivation and reinforces the importance of continuous training throughout the network.

Continuously Raising Training Standards

Through ongoing training, skills development and regular competency assessments, VIMID has built a skilled technical workforce across the network, ready to meet customer needs in warranty services, maintenance, repairs and ongoing vehicle operation.

As part of continued efforts to strengthen workforce capabilities and standardise service quality, SINOTRUK Academy, a training centre developed in accordance with SINOTRUK Group’s international standards, has recently commenced operations at the VIMID Bac Giang 4S Service Centre. The establishment of SINOTRUK Academy provides a foundation for direct training and technology transfer between SINOTRUK and VIMID, helping enhance technical competencies, standardise service quality and meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the commercial vehicle market.

The expertise of VIMID’s technical team is also being recognised on the international stage. Recently, two VIMID technicians proudly represented Vietnam at the SINOTRUK Global “Elite Team” Championship 2026 in Jinan, China.
