Building on Its Brand Strength and Market Position, VIMID Advances Further into the Manufacturing Value Chain
After more than 16 years of development, VIMID has maintained its position as one of Vietnam’s leading companies in truck distribution, after-sales services, and the transportation ecosystem.
Investment in the VMASS Automobile Manufacturing and Assembly Plant represents the Company’s next stage of development and demonstrates its determination to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities, participate more deeply in the automotive supply chain, increase domestic value creation, and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses amid growing international integration.
The plant is designed as a modern manufacturing facility incorporating advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. It will meet stringent requirements for quality, safety, and environmental protection while supporting the automotive industry’s ongoing digital transformation.
Shandong Heavy Industry Group and SINOTRUK Continue to Support VIMID
A notable aspect of the project is the support of two leading Chinese industrial groups: SDHi and SINOTRUK.
Over the years, VIMID and SINOTRUK have built a strong and enduring partnership, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s truck market through high-quality products and professional after-sales services.
Building on this foundation, SDHi and SINOTRUK will continue sharing their expertise in management, technology, and engineering while supporting VIMID throughout the implementation of the VMASS project. The parties aim to develop a modern and efficient manufacturing center suited to Vietnam’s development conditions.
The continued support of SDHi and SINOTRUK reflects their confidence in VIMID’s capabilities and development vision. It also demonstrates the increasingly extensive cooperation between Vietnamese businesses and international partners, founded on shared growth, collaborative value creation, and a common commitment to a sustainable future.

VMASS Aligns with Vietnam’s Industrial Development Strategy
The VMASS Automobile Manufacturing and Assembly Plant project is being implemented as Vietnam advances major policies of the Party and State on national industrial development, domestic manufacturing capacity, supporting industries, innovation, digital transformation, and green growth.
The decision to locate the project in the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone is also aligned with the city’s development strategy to become a major industrial and logistics center and an international trade gateway for northern Vietnam.
Once operational, VMASS is expected to strengthen Vietnam’s automobile manufacturing and assembly capabilities, promote the development of supporting industries, create more high-quality employment opportunities, and contribute positively to municipal budget revenue and economic growth in Hai Phong and Vietnam as a whole.
The project will also progressively increase the participation of VIMID and other Vietnamese businesses in regional and international supply chains, contributing to Vietnam’s goal of developing a modern, sustainable, and highly competitive automotive industry.
